Her husband, Dr Tan Min Seet, an oral and maxillofacial specialist at Le Mint’s Dental Practice, told Shin Min Daily News that Dr Lee found out that she was suffering from fourth-stage stomach cancer in May last year.
After her diagnosis, she “stopped all work and focused on her treatments”. Throughout her the treatment process, Dr Lee was optimistic and firmly believed that she will be able to recover from her illness.
Unfortunately, her condition took a turn for the worst last month.
Prior to her diagnosis, she was actively assisting with the opening of Le Mint’s clinics at East Coast Road and City Hall (Adelphi), but, unfortunately, she was not able to witness in person the most recent opening of her clinic at East Coast.
Dr Tan told Shin Min that his wife had always believed that she can return to work at Le Mint’s East Coast branch.
Many of her patients are today her friends, and upon hearing of her diagnosis, many of them wanted to pay her a visit. But due to the pandemic, Dr Lee was unable to meet them in person.
Nevertheless, they brought her bouquets of flowers and tonic products and delivered them personally to their house, Dr Tan said.
Many has since visited Dr Lee’s wake at 765 Mountbatten Road, Singapore 437765, a testament to the sociable person she was and the good friendships she has cultivated over the years.
Death Kopitiam understands that her funeral is handled by SPS Care Pte Ltd.
Dr Lee leaves behind her grandmother, father, husband, a son, and a daughter.
