6 December 2020: Chinese evening daily, Lianhe Wanbao, interviewed Wee’s mother, who said that the family had rushed to the scene where her son’s body was found on May 16, and he was found seated in the driver’s seat of the car with his head up.
10 December 2020: Cher returned to court via video link. It was revealed that she had discharged her previous solicitor and was represented by lawyers Josephus Tan, Marshall Lim and Cory Wong from Invictus Law on a pro bono basis.
She was remanded at the Central Police Division for further investigations to take place.
17 December 2020: Cher returned to court for the third time. She was remanded in Changi Prison Cluster A4 for psychiatric evaluation for three weeks.
She was scheduled to return to court on 7 January 2021.
14 April 2021: Cher requested for bail citing that “her daughters needed her”. She was told by the judge that even if a charge is non-capital, it does not mean that she is entitled to bail.
Cher’s case is scheduled for further mention on June 29.
The latest charges - 26 October 2021
On 26 October 2021, it was reported that Cher's charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was downgraded to the following two charges:
Cher is accused of turning the valve of a tank of nitrogen gas, then abetting Mr Wee to take his own life using the gas.
With regard to the charge of obstructing the course of justice, Cher is accused of asking a person named Lawrence Cheo Oon Hui to drive a van, which contained the a tank of nitrogen gas, away from the car park and disposing of a bag used in the suicide.
She is also alleged to have informed a police officer that Wee had told Cher he had chest discomfort for two weeks and that Cher believed Mr Wee died of a heart attack.

The case has been adjourned to a pre-trial conference next month.
